Advice needed on reels

Ok guys,
i have a problem now.
i am thinking of upgrading to better reels in terms of performance and such instead of the mostly low end spinning reels i am using now, with the exception of my penn mag525 n torium 16 wich i have no chance to use yet.

so which are the ones that you guys recommend?
budget is not a problem cos i feel that if i wanna invest i invest on better stuff, cos most of the fancy reels i bought are for display purposes only.

so any suggestions??

thansk a lot

Ultegra Advance 1000s abt the $200 bucks range. any higher end, check with burp, wolfblass, etc.

Higher ranges for shimano highest stella, others are fireblood, sephia, twinpower, stradic, biomaster more common in singapore.

daiwa ranges are certate range, saltiga, exists, morethan, team daiwa range, exists, etc.

Above are spinning reels and daiwa has more choices.

Price for 1000series ranges from 300 to 600 and the bigger size reels near 1k.

depending on the size of reels u looking for. U can scout around first as prices vary tremendously amongst shops.

good luck

Highest range of spinning then only stella can match your expectation for Shimano.

For Daiwa, then its the hyper certate custom.

Can check out Team 7 at Yishun or Gina in Changi. Their prices are pretty good.

I dont think I have seen a small 1000 or 2000 sized reel for both. Stella smallest I saw is 2000. For Certate custom usually 4000 range. Usually I see pple buying stella 6000 and above, up till 20000. Note that Stella also have many version the SW versions are the most ex i think.

I also looking for multipler that can be used for bottom and light jigging. How much are the OJs these days? For Local and malaysia waters, what size is good?

sorry guys forgot to mention, since usually now we are doing pond primarily,i think i start on pond reels 1st.

sea use reels wait for the time to come then buy lah.
anyways i forgot to mention i got the daiwa regal xia.is it good?

well another reason why i wanna invest in higher end stuff is cos they can be modified, aesthetically lah...
hehehehe, since missus dun allow mi to mod my car and bowling balls cannot be mod so mod reels lor kekekekeke...

i kinda like the fireblood cos the colour damn "hot" fire red kekekeke
but will still look out for it lor...
i mean since now i m really into anythign with rods..i mean mi and my wife just bought another 2 sets of prawning rods hahahahha...well kinda ot liaos

i guess besides bowling ,fishing is still the best way to relax

well anymore suggestions?

oh yah i dun think iwanna go into those that costs above 1k cos i scared dunnno how to maintain the reel spoil

The fireblood has a 1000 and 2500 series. There isn't 2000 series. I have both 1k and 2.5k which u can try out when we fish together. The 1k series can pair with almost any pond rod and I normally pair with a custom 4ft8/5ft rod or xzoga. Red is also what I like and the smoothness. Pair with a xzoga red, hehe. 2.5k is abit big but can use for pond no problem. Can also do luring very well when pair with a stiff luring rod.

Just heard from PP. There is Stella 1000. Can ask Team 7 from Yishun. Should be below 1K.

Also to add. The Shimano Twinpower 08 versions are out for size 1000 and 2000. Those are pretty good and almost half the price of Stellas of the same sizes and also made in Japan.

Can consider that if you are interested.

Fireblood is good as well.

Point to note. Stella 1000 shld be ard 600 to 700 bucks but I heard from sam that the "retrun for servicing" rate was pretty high. I sassume he meant the first batch though.

I think Hugokel got it from Gina as well.

I assume u mean the fireblood. The 1k series is about $400 and 2.5K is about $600. U got to check around as price varies and also depend on year of manufacture. . The black evergreen nero recommended by catalyst is a damn sexy reel. have seen some using it and must admit damn sleek looking. U should take a look since catalyst is willing to give u a good price. Haha

now i think i focus on regal xia 1st hehehehe...

i was actually aiming at the caldia, but still wanna hope to find made in usa penn,
*sigh* too fickle minded, spolit for choices,
frankly speaking if i buy he stellas probably they will end up in the showcase, buy the fireline also,so in the end i still duno wat to buy, been browsing around tackle shops for the past few days,a lot of reels i see already only 1 thing come to my mind, taht is buy n keep buy then...

still cant make up my mind

okie now since we are touching on this issue and i am more or less sticking to the diawa regal xia series, can i know since this reel already has 9+1 bearings, how do i go about modifying the reel to make it better?

i have just gone tru the fk reel maintenance section and all the terms on mod i see already blur like sotong ,thinkcan mod the drag, bearings and a few other parts,

for the current 2500 and 3500 i have i already changed to power knob for aesthetic purposes lah,but performance wise haven change yet,any advise on who to approach to do a complete makeover?
and if this is workable probably i can do some makeover for my sprinters too.

the next series i will be contemplating would be the caldia kix or freams depending on budget, well probably i would enquire with you experts on this later.
