Gotten my hand on a 10ft Berkley rod or the trip.

Will be pairing it with my Cladia Kix Custom 4000 with 20 lbs braided.

Problem is I heard that braided is not good for longcasting as its prone to snapping. Anyone can advise on that? Need to change line?

i'll be bringing some balloons. can do drift fishing... just make sure you got long leader, that's all.

Jan is good... If anyone organise, I may be interested. These days pond no more kick liao...

Anyway, anyone recommend a good braided line that is super thin...

Currently using fireline xp and powerpro, looking for something thinner.

yah lah... First time go excited mah... Anyway I cant fish till kelong trip. Now studying for exams so just entertain myself once in a while through shopping at tackle shop.

U tried xzyoga lines before?

bro...

I bought a cheap and good Daiwa Emblem, an Abu Conolon and a rod tube for this trip only.
The reel is loaded with 30lbs Braided whereas Abu 2500 is with 14lbs fireline and my slade 4000 is with 20lbs braided.
Cheap and reliable setup..
Oh ya, I'll be bringing along 2 more old skool surf rod (6ft and 7ft). So total 3 rods.

I also bringing 3 rods...

I dun really have a reel in the 2000 to 300 range so hoping to load thinner and more lines for my arelex 1500.

Bring my Caldia Kix 4000 custom with 30lbs braided (probably xzyoga lines), biomaster 4000 with 25lbs bradied (fireline xp)and arelex 1500 braided (8lbs powerpro or xzyoga can load slightly less than 200 yards for powerpro and more for xzyoga due to the diameter)

Rod wise 10ft berkley surf (cheap and good recommended by Sam from Changi), basstera 7ft for ballon/bottom and golden mean 6ft for sotong and bait fishing.

Good enough? Probably just get some balloons, sinkers, hooks and wire leaders along the way. Sinker, hooks and wire leaders poundage and sizes can advise?

And where U got the rod tube? I saw the one on FK can expand one.. super cool....

For bait fishing, 8lbs more than enough right? can Get some Ang ko li too... saw the posts all quite small one...

An word of advice,
to all married team members,
January is not that safe to go offshore fishing.the monsoons not over yet.

every offshore trips have the possibilities of danger, but the weather n the waves can be avoided on certain months.

i still tinkk January is not safe, probably have to check out with others team members.
April should be good.
