Fearless boy wades into pool to play with giant eels

They say children start out fearless because they don't know any better. That's certainly the case for this boy in Tahiti, who has found some unusual playmates in the form of giant freshwater eels.

"Many of the eels are easily longer than he is tall, yet he handles them like a pro, baiting them with a stream of water. He even flips one out of the water at one point.

"While the eels are generally harmless, they do have large mouths and can give you a nasty bite if you aren't quite quick enough.

"They are opportunistic carnivores that can grow up to 1.5m in length.

"How many of us adults would dare to go wading in a pool with 1.5m long fish? Or even reach out and touch them?"
