Need Advise again...
Hi Guys... Whats the diff between Jigshaft and Jigwrew? If given a choice, which will you buy or would you go for monster mesh?
Genesis Jigshaft is a stiff rod . for bottom fishing then no question it is a nice combo but if you used this combo for jigging then Jigshaft PE2-4 will be a better choice. As for jigwrex, its oso stiff, but heavier. for bottom use, no problem. but if do jigging. u gonna cry father cry mother
I beg to differ. Both the Jigshaft and the Jigrex are excellent jigging stick. For the 665N, i feel that the PE6 and above rods would match it well. In terms of weight, all three are about the same. With the Jigrex having the most parabolic action, its a matter how u feel when u load up the rod.
like u said. to u.. both jigshaft n jigwrex is good for jigging. i think the same way too. BUT if u r use to jigging, wadever rod, no matter how heavy isit, u still can jig, but to those who just start jigging, its not adviseable to have such a heavy jigging set. u lao jiao, u sld know.
This is a good discussion topic. Ultimately, it depends on what jig weights u are using. If im not wrong, the Jigshaft 4-7 is for jigs up to 380g?
Bro Piero, Where would u be using this setup? If its for SCS and Tp, when u are using a big sinker upwards of size J20, u would appreciate that u are using a stiff rod. But if its used with a smaller sinker, u might find it too stiff. With a 665N, i feel its more of a heavy jig/bottom rod. I would love it when im jigging in moderate to strong current with jigs of 300g and above.
Get the heavy ones, then next time if go to sarawak, kuching then no need buy another setup liao. but must see you can tahan the sea sickness anot, haha if can not tahan then must sell again, haizzzz ...... offshore n deep sea fishing, buy the heavier. next time buy stella 10000sw,match with Gloomis 30-60, shiok
Actually I see a lot of pple use their rod one time then sell liao.
And usually if ask nicely they will sell it at an acceptable price to me. Just clean them up and its usable again. Just like my Basstera rod... LIke never used before sia.. If the seller dont want to say, I also dunno.
Reel is different for me cos I want to get the after sales service and warranty so I usually buy from the shops.
PP... I actually thought of the stellas just over the weekend...
See how much bonus this year first.. I still have another super expensive hobby which is my coral cum marine fish tank. Trying to downscale on that but if I keep the current types of corals, need to keep aside some $$$ for potential equipment failures that can cripple or cause the whole tank to shut down.
For local offshore think I will go with ugly stik range of rods can liao...
Btw, its a butt joint but I cant seem to get the top part insert 100% into the butt area. Is this common? there is still like 1 inch I cant seem to squeeze in. Actually I scare I squeeze in later cant take out.

as for monster mesh, its more for light bottom. more lighter den jigwrex.. and more cheaper too..
Xeno,

Bro Xeno,
Im not lao jiao la. Haha. Just sharing my 2cents la.
Alot of time, i pick a jigging or bottom rod depending on the size of jigs and sinkers i'll be using.

Yes Stockie... This heavy setup is for SCS type purposes.
Local offshore think 20lbs setup can liao. Always see pple pull up only 1 to 2 kg fishes so really no need heavy rods...
RS....
